A Precocious Soul
They battle for her soul every night.
She saw them quite often in the dark corners of her bedroom. They enjoyed the energy there; the ambiance of peace and reprieve reminded them of why they were attracted to her in life in death.
And they watched her, guarded her, protected her from the evil that also lurked in the dark corners of her bedroom.
There was a silent battle for her soul.
Her tears satiated the Forgotten while her smiles and giggles revived the Venerated.
They all, both good and evil, huddled in corners. They sat on each other, dug into each other’s skin and fought for dominance of her soul.
Who could suck her dry and drag her to the depths of hell? Who could revive her and lead her to paradise?
She could see them all, thus, her bedroom was the room she liked the least. Their glowing eyes frightened her as much as their hollow mouths and long sharp fingers. To her they were all the same, and she could not rest, for at night, they would fight over her sleeping body for dominance.
She was exhausted.
