Blue Demons
Zombies again.
“Shh!”
We were huddled in a lost and found department, awaiting our time as the Blue Demons drifted through the Japanese airport.
Crissy dug into a box and pulled out a wallet, her eyes getting bigger as she sifted through it, “Ooooh, he got money yasssssss.”
“Put it back!” I hissed.
“It’s not like he’s gonna need it.” She eyed the owner; his body was crumpled in the corner. She was right. He’d already turned blue from the fever that had overtaken him. Soon, he’d be a blue demon.
We were so fucked.
“Find a gun or something!”
I stuck my hand in my left pocket and pulled out our airline tickets and sighed. They were for earlier that day, right as the airport was overtaken by Blue Demons, a variant of zombies with blue coloring and quick mobility.
If it were an international thing, we had no idea. Crissy and I had ducked into the lost and found department and completely sealed it off as the Blue Demons ravaged the travelers.
A few inches away from Crissy, the owner of the wallet twitched.
“Aw fuck.”
In a matter of seconds, he’d be on our asses like white on rice.
And he was. He stood up ramrod straight and set his cloudy eyes on me.
“You wanna go? Let’s go.” I pulled a switchblade out of my right pocket and readied it for him.
No matter what, I was gonna make it home to America. If I had to take down a few Blue Demons, that’s just what I would do.
